After a string of three wins, the Southampton Academy Raiders's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost to Ridgecroft at home by a decisive 42-23 margin. Southampton Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ridgecroft apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.
Makenzie Slaughter continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Ridgecroft, scoring 16 points along with 8 assists and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Slaughter has scored at least 25% of Ridgecroft's points. Kate Chamblee was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 9 rebounds.
Southampton Academy bumped their record down to 3-1 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.33 points across that stretch. As for Ridgecroft, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southampton Academy's homestand continues as they prepare to take on TEACH at 11:00 a.m. on December 16th. Ridgecroft will take on Kenston Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
