Baseball Game Preview: Colony Titans vs. Alta Loma Braves

Colony and Alta Loma are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Colony Titans will face off against the Alta Loma Braves at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Colony is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.

Colony's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Alta Loma with a sharp 12-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Braves: they've now won four in a row.

Carlos Barba made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Barba was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February.

In other pitching news, Colony got a great performance from Michael Huicochea as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Huicochea has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Jeremy Guadian was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Elijah Ybanez, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
