Concord hasn't had much luck against Elkhart recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Minutemen will look to defend their home field against the Lions at 11:00 a.m. Concord is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Concord lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Wawasee, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's matchup. The Minutemen were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Warriors on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Minutemen have posted against the Warriors since May 2, 2022.
Allison Ralston tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk).

Cassi Reames
05/21/25 @ Wawasee | 3 |
05/19/25 @ Warsaw | 4 |
05/17/25 @ Bremen | 4 |
On the hitting side, Cassi Reames was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Rheagan Stafford, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Elkhart, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over Mishawaka Marian on Friday. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Natali Finkhousen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits.
At the plate, Elkhart's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ava Walker, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Julia Renon also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Elkhart hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 4-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Elkhart pushed their record up to 14-12 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Concord, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Concord has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Elkhart struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Concord suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Elkhart in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Minutemen have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
