Ellis is 7-2 against Victoria since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Ellis Railroaders on the road again and play against the Victoria Knights at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Ellis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
Last Friday, Ellis was able to grind out a solid victory over Thomas More Prep-Marian, taking the game 50-39.
Ellis found their leader in underclassman Aiden Aschenbrenner, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Logan Russell, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Victoria came up short against Hoisington on Saturday and fell 39-27. Victoria has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ellis' victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Victoria, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
Ellis ended up a good deal behind Victoria in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, losing 46-31. Can Ellis avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
