The Clayton Clippers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat LEAP Academy 57-19 on the road. The win was a breath of fresh air for Clayton as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Rainelle Blocker was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Blocker is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Delaney, who scored 11 points along with eight steals.
Clayton's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5. As for LEAP Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clayton will take on Salem County Vo-Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Salem County Vo-Tech comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for LEAP Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Bridgeton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
