The Marshall Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 51-43 to Lee. While losing is never fun, Marshall can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while Lee is ranked 160th).
Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lori Garcia, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Kayli Carrisalez, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Lee got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rosanelly Pastrano out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Pastrano hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Savannah Ramirez was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Marshall has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-17 record this season. As for Lee, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-11.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Madison the next time they take the court. Marshall will head out to face Madison at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Lee will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
