Mallory Short posted a new career-high in runs on Friday. She fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Considering she played a big game the last time she faced off against Herron back in May of 2024, the result shouldn't come as too huge a shock. Short also snagged a stolen base, marking her first of the season.

Coming up, Short and Speedway will take on Bethesda Christian at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Patriots will enter the matchup having just beaten Clinton Prairie, so the Sparkplugs will have to guard against a team looking to keep the ball rolling.
