Wellington-Napoleon skirted past Lafayette County 31-28. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Wellington-Napoleon also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Wellington-Napoleon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isabelle Miller led the charge by scoring nine points. Miller has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaylin Ellensohn, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
Wellington-Napoleon now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Lafayette County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wellington-Napoleon will square off against Kingsville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Kingsville is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Lafayette County, they will head out on the road to face off against Knob Noster at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
