The Culver Academies Eagles will challenge the Peru Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Culver Academies is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Culver Academies gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Knox by a score of 9-6. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Redskins: they've now won seven in a row.

Sam Grundberg made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Culver Academies got a massive performance out of Ainsley Ritchie, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits Ritchie has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Nick Langenberg, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Culver Academies kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Peru ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past Wabash 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since April 20th.
Jackson Boswell spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on William Rodriguez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run was his first of the season. Lucas Musser was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Peru's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Culver Academies, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Culver Academies has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .465. However, it's not like Peru struggles in that department as they've averaged .485. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Culver Academies skirted past Peru 8-6 when the teams last played back in April of 2022. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
