The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. On Friday Evergreen Park will take on Payton College Prep at 7:30 PM. Coming off of a loss in a game they were expected to win, Evergreen Park now face the more daunting task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds.
Things haven't been easy for Evergreen Park, and their contest last Friday only extended their streak of losses to four. They came up short against Thornton Fractional North, falling 7-17.
Meanwhile, Payton College Prep might be getting used to good results now that the team has nine wins in a row. They dodged a bullet, finishing off Kenwood 43-42. Having pegged this as anyone's game, the MaxPreps state rankings were right on the nose.
Payton College Prep's win lifted them to 9-0 while Evergreen Park's defeat dropped them down to 4-5. We'll see if Payton College Prep's success rolls on or if Evergreen Park are able to steal their positive momentum.
