LeRoy has gone 8-2 against Lexington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Panthers will take on the Minutemen at 2:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
LeRoy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Hoopeston on Thursday. The Panthers blew past the Cornjerkers 9-2.

Brock Owens made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Braeden Fox was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kobe Brent, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
LeRoy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hoopeston only posted a batting average of .258.
Meanwhile, Lexington waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Spartans.
The team relied heavily on Jaxson Goodrich, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Braeden Barber, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Lexington pushed their record up to 14-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for LeRoy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.
LeRoy couldn't quite finish off Lexington when the teams last played back in April and fell 11-9. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
