The Western Warriors will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Holy Cross Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Western has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 582 points over their last eight matchups.
Western pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 69-56 to Fern Creek.
Holy Cross won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 78-57 walloping at the hands of Fairdale. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the defeat, Holy Cross got a solid performance out of Jacob Hand, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Hand hasn't dropped below 17 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Loftis, who scored 14 points.
Western's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Holy Cross, their loss dropped their record down to 14-10.
Western strolled past Holy Cross when the teams last played back in February of 2020 by a score of 86-72. Will Western repeat their success, or does Holy Cross have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
