Leesville Road has gone 8-2 against Millbrook recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Pride will take on the Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. Leesville Road is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Leesville Road proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by nine) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Wake Forest 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pride have posted since February 24th.

Ben Fields and Landon Lewis did most of the damage at the plate: Fields went 3-for-4 with two RBI, while Lewis went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave Fields a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ethan Engelson, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Millbrook had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Falcons.
Millbrook's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Conner Thomas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That double was Thomas' first of the season. Jack Strom was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Millbrook pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Leesville Road, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Leesville Road has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Millbrook struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Leesville Road's way against Millbrook when the teams last played back in March, as Leesville Road made off with a 13-5 win. Will the Pride repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
