The Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough  59-22 loss at the hands of Fountain-Fort Carson. The  defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cheyenne Mountain in their matchups with Fountain-Fort Carson: they've now lost five in a row.
 When it comes to explaining why Cheyenne Mountain lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Ainsley Norton. Despite the final result, she  scored 11 points along with two  steals. Norton is on a roll when it comes to  steals, as she's  now  grabbed two or more in the last three games she's  played.
 Cheyenne Mountain bumped their record down to 2-10 with that  defeat, which was their fifth straight  on the road. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, the  victory was  the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cheyenne Mountain will take on Lewis-Palmer at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Lewis-Palmer presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado (Lewis-Palmer is ranked 59th, while Cheyenne Mountain is ranked 253rd). As for Fountain-Fort Carson, they will stay at home for another  game and welcome Vista Ridge at 7:00  p.m.  on January 18th. Vista Ridge is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
