Chipley hasn't had much luck against Walton recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Chipley will welcome Walton at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Walton will be up against a hot Chipley team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Everything went Chipley's way against Malone on Tuesday as Chipley made off with a 27-1 victory. Chipley's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Emily Mayo made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kenzlee Nelson, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Olivia Brown was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Chipley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .588. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Walton never let their opponents score two weeks ago. They blew past Rutherford 20-0. With that win, the Braves brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.
Like Chipley, Walton also got a great game from a two-way player: Bella Baker. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave Baker a new career-low in walks (zero). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Mackenzie Peels was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with five RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Izzy Holden, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Chipley pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Walton, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
Walton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Chipley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .368. It's a different story for Walton, though, as they've only averaged .236. Will they be able to contain Chipley's hitters?
Chipley came out on top in a nail-biter against Walton when the teams last played on March 6th, sneaking past 10-8. Does Chipley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Walton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
