On Friday Capitan will take on Mescalero Apache at 7:00 PM. Capitan are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the matchup prepared for a fight.
Things haven't been easy for Capitan, and their contest last Friday only extended their streak of losses to seven. They took a 32-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lordsburg. Capitan got a solid performance out of junior Garrison Weems, who rushed for 75 yards and 2 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win.
Meanwhile, there's no need to mince words: Mescalero Apache lost to Estancia last Friday, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 0-52.
With the two teams each stumbling in off of a defeat, both will be hungry for the victory. We'll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
