In what's become a running theme this season, the Cottonwood Colts gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 66-14 victory over Hillcrest. With that victory, Cottonwood brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.
Avea Van der beek was her usual excellent self, scoring 16 points. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carley Caton, who scored 14 points.
Cottonwood is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Hillcrest, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.
Cottonwood will be playing in front of their home fans against Stansbury at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Stansbury has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Cottonwood will arrive with three straight wins. As for Hillcrest, they will head out on the road to square off against Tooele at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Tooele focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Friday.
