The Lapwai Wildcats stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Kamiah 69-42 at home. The win was nothing new for Lapwai as they're now sitting on five straight.
Lapwai had a senior duo take command as Kase Wynott dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists and Ahlius Yearout scored 23 points. Wynott is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Joseph Payne was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Lapwai's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 42.06 points. As for Kamiah, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Lapwai will play host again and welcome Potlatch, where tip off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Potlatch is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Kamiah, they will head out on the road to challenge Clearwater Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Clearwater Valley is ranked 74th, while Kamiah is ranked 96th).
