With a playoff game on the line, the Lake Gibson Braves rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They strolled past the Chargers with points to spare, taking the game 87-71. The win was familiar territory for Lake Gibson who now have three in a row.
Liberty's loss came despite strong showings from Tasir Best and Lamar Lee. Best dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Lee scored 15 points along with six steals. Lee is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Genola Thermozier, who scored 13 points.
Lake Gibson pushed their record up to 13-13 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.7 points per game. As for Liberty, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-17.
Lake Gibson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Liberty also has no future games currently scheduled.
