The Edgewood Mustangs entered their tilt with the Marshall Lions with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Edgewood walked away with a 67-55 victory over Marshall on Wednesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Mialin White, who scored 20 points along with three blocks. Those three blocks set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Jones, who scored 12 points.
Edgewood has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Marshall, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
Edgewood won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Terre Haute North Vigo on December 28th. Terre Haute North Vigo knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Edgewood likes a good challenge. Marshall won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against South Vermillion at 5:30 p.m. on December 28th. South Vermillion presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Marshall in their respective states (South Vermillion is ranked 135th in Indiana, while Marshall is ranked 317th in Illinois).
