Morgan is 10-0 against Walnut Springs since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Morgan Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Walnut Springs Hornets at 7:30 p.m. Morgan will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.
Even though Blum scored an imposing 57 points on Friday, Morgan still came out on top. Morgan managed a 62-57 win over Blum. Given Morgan's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 790th, while Blum is ranked 1595th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Morgan got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Adrian Alonzo out in front who scored 33 points along with two steals and two blocks. That makes it five consecutive games in which Alonzo has scored at least a third of Morgan's points. Zach Mitchell was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 21 rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Meridian scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, Walnut Springs still came out on top. Walnut Springs narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Meridian 61-58.
Morgan's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-1. As for Walnut Springs, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Morgan was able to grind out a solid victory over Walnut Springs in their previous meeting on January 9th, winning 46-33. Does Morgan have another victory up their sleeve, or will Walnut Springs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
