Baseball Recap: Lithia Springs Comes Up Short

Lithia Springs came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Heritage Patriots, falling 14-3. The Lions' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Jaden Cooper was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Greyson Smith also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Lithia Springs' loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Heritage, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lithia Springs will face off against Kennesaw Mountain at 5:55 p.m. on Monday. Kennesaw Mountain's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Lithia Springs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Heritage, they will challenge Rockdale County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Rockdale County has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.73 runs per game on average), something Heritage will no doubt try to take advantage of.
