The Silex Owls will head out on the road to face off against the Clopton Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Silex is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Mark Twain on Monday as they made off with a 17-5 victory. The win continues a trend for the Owls in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won seven in a row.

Joe Dameron made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Dameron was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game.
In other batting news, Chase Mullen was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Dillon Benton also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Silex always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
While Clopton didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Elsberry with a sharp 11-5 victory on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Hawks, who have now won four contests in a row.
Like Silex, Clopton also got a great game from a two-way player: Peter Daskalakis. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Daskalakis has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Tucker Salmons was a standout: he scored a run and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. Salmons is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Adam Lindsay was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Clopton's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Silex, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Silex was able to grind out a solid win over Clopton when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Owls since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
