Softball Recap: Fort Wayne Snider Wins Going Away Against Fort Wayne North Side

While Fort Wayne Snider put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Fort Wayne North Side. The Panthers blew past the Legends 22-0. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Legends: they've now won three in a row.

Ameera Kummer and Makayla Stone were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Kummer tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Stone struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Kummer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Kummer went a perfect 5-for-5 with five runs, six RBI, and two stolen bases, while Stone went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave Kummer a new career-high in doubles (three).

In other batting news, Fort Wayne Snider let Ella Houser and Gabrielle O'Neill run wild. Houser got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five runs and two RBI, while O'Neill went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave O'Neill a new career-high. Lily Ryan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Fort Wayne Snider kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.2.

Fort Wayne Snider picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-8. As for Fort Wayne North Side, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
