Covington has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 22 points or more this season. They blew past Lehman Catholic 59-33. Given Covington's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Lehman Catholic is ranked 600th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Milton-Union didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Houston on Monday, but they still walked away with a 59-53 win.
Jenna Brumbaugh continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Milton-Union's points. Ava Berberich was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
Covington pushed their record up to 8-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.67 points. As for Milton-Union, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Covington came up short against Milton-Union when the teams last played back in January, falling 43-39. Can Covington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
