While Legacy Christian Academy's win against Prestonwood Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles skirted past the Lions 7-6. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Blair Ehmer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Mallary Renner was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Maddy Bertsch was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run.
Meanwhile, John Paul II waltzed into their game on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They never let the Lions get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 contests by seven runs or more this season.
John Paul II got a massive performance out of Abby McGraw, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave McGraw a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Kloeber, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
John Paul II pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Legacy Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 16-8-1.
