The Wheat Ridge Farmers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 72-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Peak to Peak. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (56), Wheat Ridge still had to take the loss.
Wheat Ridge lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Da'mon Bobbs, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of David Salcedo, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Elijah Eschmeyer was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks for Peak to Peak. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Eschmeyer has scored all season. Tysen Burton was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six assists and three steals.
Wheat Ridge dropped their record down to 4-14 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Peak to Peak, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Wheat Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Evergreen at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Evergreen knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Wheat Ridge likes a good challenge. As for Peak to Peak, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against The Academy at 7:00 p.m. The Academy will be up against Peak to Peak's rather soft defense (which has allowed 58.93 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive showing.
