The Fulshear Chargers will head out on the road to square off against the Randle Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Fulshear sitting on six straight wins and Randle on 12.
Fulshear can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 51-22 win over Terry at home. Given Fulshear's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while Terry is ranked 1158th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jada Morgan continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Campbell Hill, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Randle put the finishing touches on their 12th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Fort Bend Kempner 62-21 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Randle has posted since December 27, 2023.
It was another big night for Alaysia Cook, who scored 17 points along with nine steals and eight rebounds. Cook is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Kurynn McNeill was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Fulshear pushed their record up to 22-5 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Randle, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Fulshear have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Randle struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.5 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Fulshear came up short against Randle when the teams last played on January 2nd, falling 60-56. Can Fulshear avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
