Baseball Recap: Greater Vision Academy Comes Up Short

Greater Vision Academy was the 10-9 winner over Oak Ridge Military Academy when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Greater Vision Academy fell 12-8 to Oak Ridge Military Academy on Tuesday. The Lions just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Tatum Williams was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Krastyn Allred, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Even though they lost, Greater Vision Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Greater Vision Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Oak Ridge Military Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Greater Vision Academy is taking a road trip to face off against Greensboro Day School at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Greensboro Day School's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Greater Vision Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Oak Ridge Military Academy, they will be playing at home against Liberty Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Christian has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.2 runs per game on average), something Oak Ridge Military Academy will no doubt try to take advantage of.
