The Bluffton Pirates and the Lincolnview Lancers will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bluffton has ten straight wins, Lincolnview has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Liberty-Benton scored an imposing 56 points on Saturday, Bluffton still came out on top. Bluffton walked away with a 63-56 victory over Liberty-Benton. Given Bluffton's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while Liberty-Benton is ranked 331st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lincolnview suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were dealt a 62-32 defeat at the hands of Antwerp. Lincolnview has not had much luck with Antwerp recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Bluffton pushed their record up to 12-1 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Lincolnview, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
Everything came up roses for Bluffton against Lincolnview when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 76-43 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bluffton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
