The Severance Silver Knights will face off against the Berthoud Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
On Tuesday, Severance got the win against Wellington by a conclusive 3-0. The Silver Knights haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Severance never let Wellington on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 25-20.

Severance can attribute much of their success to Dalaynie Loftin, who had 17 assists and seven digs, and Micaela Nethery, who had 12 digs and two aces. Those seven digs gave Loftin a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Berthoud made easy work of Greeley Central on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win.
Berthoud walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-11, 25-18.
Berthoud had a senior duo take command as Bella Shelton had 16 digs and one assist and Morgan Brown had 18 assists. Those 18 assists set a new season-high mark for Brown.
They weren't the only good servers: Berthoud was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in six consecutive matchups.
Severance's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Berthoud, their victory bumped their record up to 21-1.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: Severance has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.1 aces per game. However, it's not like Berthoud struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
