The White County Warriors pushed their score all the way to 37 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Pickens by a score of 39-37. White County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sam Streicher had an outrageously good game for Pickens as he threw for 344 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown. Mccord Purdy was another key contributor, picking up 118 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
White County now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Pickens, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.
White County will look to defend their home field on Friday against Gilmer at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Gilmer is ranked 243rd, while White County is ranked 230th). As for Pickens, they will head out on the road to face off against Wesleyan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wesleyan will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
