After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Barrington, Cranston East was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Hope Blue Wave with a sharp 15-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Thunderbolts, who have now won 13 matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Lexi Montalban made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.
In other batting news, Nevaeh Fatorma was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
