The Mountain View-Gotebo Tigers were the 53-52 winner over the Carnegie Wildcats when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Mountain View-Gotebo was dealt a 75-14 defeat at the hands of Carnegie on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mountain View-Gotebo has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Mountain View-Gotebo still got an impressive performance from Paden Jackson, who scored nine points.
Carnegie's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jalen Wallace led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 14 assists. The contest was Wallace's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Duane Cavaness, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Mountain View-Gotebo's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-2. As for Carnegie, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View-Gotebo will be home for the holidays to greet Cordell at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Cordell is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Carnegie will be home for the holidays to greet Fort Cobb-Broxton at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Cobb-Broxton will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
