With a playoff game on the line, North Florida Educational Institute rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Warriors 56-7 on the road. North Florida Educational Institute has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 22 points or more this season.
North Florida Educational Institute's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anjela Tumsifu, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Tumsifu hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Meanwhile, Munroe had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They managed a 48-42 victory over L.E.A.D. Academy.
Munroe found their leader in underclassman Aj Johnson, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mya Mccullar, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
North Florida Educational Institute is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Munroe, their victory bumped their record up to 9-15.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: North Florida Educational Institute have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 22.7 rebounds per game.
