Walton extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 1-3. They came up short against the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats, falling 19-8. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Bobcats from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.
Everet West made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those runs were his first of the season. Grayson Palmer was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
As for Bainbridge-Guilford, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The result was nothing new for Bainbridge-Guilford, who have now won three contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.
On Bainbridge-Guilford's side, Brayden Swartwout made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. Swartwout was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anthony Cafasso, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. He has become a key player for Bainbridge-Guilford: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Davis Barnard, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases and three runs.
Looking ahead, Walton will square off against Greene at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bainbridge-Guilford, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Delaware Academy on the 21st.
