Fort Yukon found their leader in underclassman Nellie Ward, who scored 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Twila Strom, who scored 14 points.
Fort Yukon's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Walter Northway, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Yukon will take on Tri-Valley at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Walter Northway won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Minto at 10:30 a.m. on January 6th.
