After a string of five wins, the Northwestern Area Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Great Plains Lutheran by a score of 26-23. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Northwestern Area has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Great Plains Lutheran to victory, but perhaps none more so than Olivia Holmen, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline Prahl, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Northwestern Area's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Great Plains Lutheran, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing North Central the next time they take the court. Northwestern Area will host North Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Great Plains Lutheran will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
