It was a good run, but the Rock County Christian Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 54-46 to Rockford FIRE HomeSchool. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Rock County Christian of the 68-47 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Rock County Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gabriel Thompson. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thompson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gideon Ukwuorji, who scored six points along with five rebounds and four blocks.
Rock County Christian's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-5. As for Rockford FIRE HomeSchool, their victory bumped their record up to 1-4.
Rock County Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rockford FIRE HomeSchool, they will head out on the road to challenge Christian Life at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
