The Broome Centurions waltzed into their matchup Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 58-31 win over Brashier Middle College Charter on the road. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 13 to 4 on the offensive boards, as Broome did.
Lance Henderson was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Jaiden Thomas was another key contributor, scoring four points along with ten steals.
Brashier Middle College Charter's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ridge Bryson, who scored seven points. Another player making a difference was Nick Mattison, who scored six points.
Broome now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Brashier Middle College Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Broome and Travelers Rest will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Travelers Rest is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Brashier Middle College Charter will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Christ Church Episcopal at 8:00 p.m. on January 9th.
