After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ashley, the Croatan Cougars were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Dixon 44-14 on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 22-0.
Croatan found their leader in underclassman Neely McMannen, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that McMannen pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Landry Clifton, who scored six points.
The win got Croatan back to even at 6-6. As for Dixon, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
Croatan will be playing at home against White Oak at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dixon, they will head out on the road to square off against Richlands at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
