Kylee Hooker made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, Ra'Ziyah Ackies was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That hit marked the first that she has got this season. Another player making a difference was Makenley Walling, who earned one RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases.
Wagener-Salley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .850. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Fox Creek waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs, sneaking past 14-12.
Emma Widener and Addie Woodward did most of the damage at the plate: Widener went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI, while Woodward went 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Karter Wood, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
