After flying high against the North RedHawks last Friday, the Kapaun Mt. Carmel Crusaders came back down to earth. Kapaun Mt. Carmel fell 61-54 to Southeast on Tuesday. Kapaun Mt. Carmel has struggled against Southeast recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Kapaun Mt. Carmel lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lizzie Romer. Despite the final result, she scored 19 points. Ella Rudy was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Southeast's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alana Webb, who scored 28 points along with 5 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Webb has scored at least 25% of Southeast's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leela Jones, who scored 15 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds.
Kapaun Mt. Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Southeast, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Kapaun Mt. Carmel will look to defend their home court on Friday against South at 6:00 p.m. As for Southeast, they will head out on the road to face off against Northwest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
