Softball Recap: Goleman Has No Trouble Against Northwestern

Goleman won the last time they faced Northwestern and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Gators blew past the Bulls 15-6. Considering the Gators have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Britney Cintas was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Amanda Monteagudo, who scored two runs and stole five bases while going 1-for-1.

Cintas wasn't the only one making solid contact: Goleman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for the Gators: they were averaging 3.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.6.

Goleman has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Northwestern, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Goleman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northwestern, they will host Hialeah at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
