Constitution has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Constitution knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech likes a good challenge.
Even though Overbrook scored an imposing 55 points on Thursday, Constitution still came out on top. Constitution strolled past Overbrook with points to spare, taking the game 71-55. Given Constitution's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Overbrook is ranked 184th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Perry Fields and Omar Davis. Fields had a great game and scored eight points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. Meanwhile, Davis did his best for the losing side, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. They blew past Abraham Lincoln 81-61. The win was familiar territory for Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech who now have four in a row.
It was another big night for Zachary Campbell, who scored 33 points. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Saleem Hudson, who scored 14 points.
Constitution pushed their record up to 12-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's match: Constitution have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 4 threes per game. It's a different story for Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 threes per game. Given Constitution's sizeable advantage in that area, Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech will need to find a way to close that gap.
Constitution strolled past Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech in their previous meeting back in February of 2022 by a score of 59-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Constitution since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
