On the hitting side, Josiah Heath was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Grayson Dove was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Smithfield-Selma, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southeast Raleigh will face off against Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cleveland will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Southeast Raleigh surely won't give up without a fight. As for Smithfield-Selma, they will take on Hunt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hunt's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Smithfield-Selma's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
