AAA District 1 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Ryan Burger and Devin Walker provided fans with a highlight when they connected against South Greene. The longest such play in AAA District 1 this season, the connection resulted in 70 yards.
David Crockett's Jordan Turner rumbled for the longest rushing play in the league this season in his game against the Rebels last week. Turner scampered for 70 yards on the play and finished with 173 on the day as his team defeated South Greene.
David Crockett's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Burger threw for 146 and one touchdown and Walker had 139 yards receiving. Austin Durbin helped David Crockett's passing attack out by catching one ball for seven yards.
Caleb Arrowood made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Pioneers bested Shawn Jones's team. The senior forced one fumble and racked up three sacks.
David Crockett's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Pioneers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Burger has thrown for 291 yards and one touchdown this season, while Walker has six catches for 212 yards. Turner leads the league in rushing with 331 yards.
A big matchup in AAA District 1 this week will be when Daniel Boone takes on Tennessee. The Trailblazers are in fourth place, while the Vikings are in third place.
Tennessee moved up to 82 from 145 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league.
