Thursday just wasn't the day for The Avon Falcons''s offense. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 22-0 walloping at the hands of South Windsor. That's two games in a row now that Avon has lost by exactly 22 points.
South Windsor was led to victory by Ethan Burke and Logan Sherwood. Burke rushed for 44 yards and a touchdown, while Sherwood rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
This is the second loss in a row for Avon and nudges their season record down to 2-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 3.0 points per game. As for South Windsor, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Avon will head out on the road to face off against Bristol Eastern at 6:30 p.m. on November 10th. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Jaiden Fore and Nikolai Meltser. As for South Windsor, they will be playing at home against Rocky Hill at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Rocky Hill is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
