Kiel had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Shawano Community Hawks a 5-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Kiel, who have now won seven games by four goals or more so far this season.

Kiel pushed their record up to 7-2-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those three matches. As for Shawano Community, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kiel will host Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Shawano Community, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Marinette at 6:30 p.m. on the 29th.
