Greer Middle College is 0-10 against the Cardinals since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Greer Middle College Blazers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Landrum Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Greer Middle College will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Cardinals are ranked 43rd).
Last Friday, Greer Middle College had to suffer through a rough 65-21 loss at the hands of the Wildcats. Greer Middle College has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Landrum put the finishing touches on their 12th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Greenville Tech Charter 64-22 on the road. The win was nothing new for Landrum as they're now sitting on five straight.
Landrum's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaylee Cortez, who scored 25 points along with three steals. Cortez is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Savannah Brown was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven assists and four steals.
Greer Middle College dropped their record down to 5-15 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.8 points per game. As for Landrum, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.
Greer Middle College took a serious blow against the Cardinals in their previous matchup back in January, falling 71-20. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Greer Middle College was down 36-8.
